About WanzWay
It started with one simple idea...
What if students learned best
by helping each other?
In classrooms, we saw students who had lost confidence begin to thrive once they were matched with peers. A tutoring program called "Licensed to Learn" grew into a movement — showing that students could lift each other up, while discovering their own strengths.
WanzWay is the next step in that relationship - giving tutors the engine to help their peers navigate AI in safe and productive ways. Best practices will help any learner who wants to help others succeed.
The WanzWay blends the best of research with the best in people.
Learning Quadrants Simplified
Everyone learns differently. Some are hands-on builders, some are talk-it-through collaborators, some dive deep into ideas, some see the big picture. Each kind of learning has it’s own quadrant — and they guide everything we do.

Environments That Inspire
Borrowing from Montessori, we look for spaces where learners feel safe to try, fail, and try again.
Peer Tutors as Guides
When students help each other, both grow. Tutors earn recognition, confidence, and leadership skills while their peers gain support.
Learning Without the Clock
Our modules aren't "courses" with rigid deadlines. They're prepared learning environments for flexible journeys where learners reach their goals.
Philosophy & Implementation
The WanzWay app is designed to support students who find it challenging to learn new concepts. Often, there’s a disconnect between the method of instruction and understanding because teachers tend to teach in a “didactic” method (Abstract Verbal), while many students learn best by “doing and making” (Concrete Graphic) or “talking it through” (Concrete Verbal). WanzWay helps tutors bridge this gap by guiding learning from the peer’s style, not the teacher’s.
Environment
WanzWay works best alongside textbooks, hands-on materials, and AI support to create a strong learning environment. This can include specific “manipulatives”—concrete items like Lego blocks, marbles, or cut-and-paste materials—that help learners explore and understand concepts actively.
The Model
Inspired by Maria Montessori and the Star Trek Holodeck, WanzWay combines time-tested educational approaches with modern resources to create optimal learning conditions.
AI Integration
AI prompts generated in the app provide guidance, suggestions, and ideas—not direct instruction. It helps to design effective learning environments, recommend materials, and suggest strategies to learn more efficiently.
Defined Learning
Everyone learns differently, but most classrooms the process is the same for all. The WanzWay addresses this by tailoring learning to each student’s preference, starting with an understanding of their learning quadrant.
The Difference We've Made
Thousands of students have gained confidence with the pre-AI version.
Peer tutors have gone on to university, jobs, and leadership roles with the certificates they earned.
Schools have reported stronger cultures, more engaged students, and real achievement gains all at almost no cost.
Acknowledgements
We acknowledge the work of Howard Gardner, Robert Sternberg and Stephen Jay Gould on the subject of intelligences. Bernice McCarthy and her colleagues were influential on the learning preferences materials. Maria Montessori set out the prepared learning environments. The 6 Habits of Effective Tutors is used with permission from Jack Truschel, Ed. D, Psy. D. The general approach of constructivist learning is well documented, and the process of elimination of error to reach highest achievement levels has proven most helpful to the huge number of students wanting to improve their grades.
